Ahhh Okra…..Just the name brings a cringe to many folks. Some have not even heard of this vegetable. Others wish they could forget this Southern style veggie….but don’t write off this little gem just yet…..
The health benefits of this Vegetable are astonishing really….and don’t just take our word for it….
It contains potassium, vitamin B, vitamin C, folic acid, and calcium. It’s low in calories and has a high dietary fiber content. Recently, a new benefit of including okra in your diet is being considered. Okra has been suggested to help manage blood sugar in cases of Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes (Healthline.com).
